Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Around 2,000 American Positions – Update
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are likely, as the firm intending to disclose full details during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.
Previous updates suggested that Paramount was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.
As of December 2024, Paramount employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 contract workers.
The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
